AICN: 12th Episode will air!
Ain’t It Cool News is passing on a note from Kevin Falls stating that the 12th episode of Journeyman, which could serve as a finale, will air on December 19. He even mentions this very website!
The decision to air the 12th episode had a lot to do with the passion of our fans through SaveJourneyman.net, the online petition and letters and emails to NBC executives.
Update: After reading several comments and counting the episodes, it has become obvious that the episode airing December 19 will be Journeyman’s 13th episode. I’m not sure why Kevin Falls is calling it the 12th.

The AICN talkback had a link which led to another corner of the Save Journeyman effort. Check out http://savejourneyman.funurl.com/ and http://save-journeyman.blogspot.com/, they might be worth a link. They’re all about the Rice-A-Roni, for what that’s worth.
I didn’t see this information elsewhere on this site. Please forgive me if it’s here and I missed it.
Here’s the information for the person at NBC to contact with your requests to Save Journeyman.

I have read from users on the Television Without Pity discussion board that she answers emails promptly, personally, and politely.
Here is the text of the email I sent her. Feel free to copy/paste as much of it as you find appropriate.
Dear Ms. Park,
I’m contacting you to express support for my favorite NBC show, Journeyman.
Journeyman is a quality show that has developed well-fleshed out characters that emotionally resonate. Because the emotions portrayed on the show are so real, identifiable and emotionally accessible, it makes suspension of disbelief all-encompassing when it comes to Dan’s time-travel adventures.
The only real problem I can identify with Journeyman is the lack of promotion by NBC. For example, there are tons and tons of Bionic Woman ads. Like most people, I gave up on Bionic Woman after watching two episodes because of the wooden acting and silly plots. Yet NBC continues to promote Bionic Woman as if it were the best thing ever to hit the network while Journeyman, a far superior show, struggles with almost no promotion.
My husband and I both watch Journeyman and enjoy it immensely. We would both be very upset if Journeyman were canceled. I am a 52-year-old female, my husband is a 49-year-old male, and we watch every episode of Journeyman. I love the show so much I have written about it in my blog at this post: http://itssomethingtodo.blogspot.com/2007/11/journeyman.html
Please do what you can to save the best show on NBC, Journeyman.
Thank you for your consideration.
Best regards,
Thanks rtrudeau! I’ve added that information to our About page.
The problem with TV is that well written shows aren’t “popular” and for whatever reason (the fact that the big networks don’t have to pay for actors, e.g.), reality TV is getting face time…
The sheep that is the viewing public just can’t seem to put an IQ together long enough to watch a good program.
I hate to say it - but Journeyman is going to be victim of a stupid audience.
If anyone in the network had any balls - we’d be getting compelling TV like what was had in the 1970s. Shows that tackle issues that - because of the FCC neutering everyone - will never exist again.
Sure the 70s were cheesy - but look at what the scripts had in them and try to get ANY of that material into a show in the modern era….Pppfffftttt - you’ll never see it.
Imagine a writer trying to get a show about a bigotry, sexual freedom, or race nowadays, HA! Think about “All in the Family”, “the Jefferson’s” or “Sandford and Sons” - those shows wouldn’t even see pilots now.
I swear that the people who are making these reality shows are just following a pattern of TV shows that they watched when they were kids (think “You Can’t Do That On Television”). It’s a joke how juvenile reality TV is. I call it “DUH TV” (TM).
Journeyman is smartly written - and it’s too bad that it will meet it’s doom. Maybe they should write a few idiot episodes where the characters do zany stuff to win a meager prize…..in other words dumb it down for America.
Well the reason is more than likely because like people day one isn’t really age one episode 1 for us is real a pilot for the people who make the show.
I like that they’re changing up the timeslot a little. They’re seeing how Life will do in Journeyman’s slot, then will see how Journeyman does in Life’s timeslot. It’s still going up against a CSI:, but still, maybe changing it up a little will affect it for the better.
And I have also sent about 3 emails to Joanne Park and she has responded to every one of them. She’s been extremely nice and says that NBC really does like this show and wants it to succeed, despite what seems to be a lack of advertising. She also mentioned earlier this week that she would be shocked if the remaining episodes didn’t air. I would have said that for you all sooner, but to be honest, I didn’t know this place was around until Kevin Falls mentioned the website.
If any of you are on Facebook, join the Journeyman (NBC) group. There’s about 300+ people there and there’s discussions about the episodes and such.
Yes, Joanne replied to my e-mail. Yes, she was polite. My answer back, as you can see, is not so polite. Well, not so reserved.

You love the show too? Who are you kidding? I just watched Heroes and there was not a single promo for next week’s show? Unless people read the fansites or have written to you like I have, they will assume Journeyman is off the air. You didn’t even tack anything on at the beginning of its usual time slot saying “Journeyman will return next week.” And of course, the lead-in from Heroes will be gone.
No wonder you told ME to tell all my friends. NBC is obviously not interested in promoting this show.

[…] AICN: 12th Episode will air!SaveJourneman.net brings word that episode 12 of Journeyman will air. Journeyman is my favorite show of the new season, and I hope it comes back, but at least it will get to finish it’s run.Tags: NBC, Journeyman, […]
I would like to know if the show Journeyman is returning. If it is being cancelled please let me know. I will physically delete NBC off of my television. ( I’ll wait for someone to tell me that Heroes is back on in the fall. ) Journeyman is a great show. It is well written and I can sit watching it with my wife and two sons. Lots of ignorant shows out there have very bad topics and are not appropriate for families. The executives ( lower-case for a reason ) at NBC as well as other executives lead fake exsistances in a dream world. They are not in touch with reality. Their only reality is reality television, which is an example of their distance from the normal. Television in my book is heading into the crapper. When I laugh at a serious drama, yawn at a comedy, or loose brain cells at an alarming rate watching reality television I choose to turn the whole thing off. When I see a good show like Jorneyman, not only do I watch it, I tell people at work, friends, and family about it. When a show has some purpose, instead of just filling a time slot, it will work. A few more things before I go. If you haven’t seen Idiocracy ( Good movie ) you might want to see it. This way you can catch a glimpse of your future television lineups. ( Ouch My Balls ) Change now before its too late. People like myself live in reality and have a good handle on things. I see shows that television puts out and usely can tell if it will last or not. If Jorneyman is cancelled its because television companies lost the grasp of what television is about. It should be about what instills in us a sense of what makes us who we are. It should give us comfort as well as open our minds. We should be able to relate to who or what we are watching. Ratings do not always lead to great shows. Example: Take a highly rated show and put it on for three hours straight once a week for three weeks. Watch how your ratings dive. Now take a show ( that your rating board or however you tally the ratings ) with lower ratings yet fits the criteria - Jorneyman - and advertise as such a show explaining it might go off the air. Put the first season on for three hours straight once a week for three weeks. Compare yours notes.( Not really ) Your notes are probably why I’m writing this. You need to get real people and ask them to compare. I still believe Good shows are out there. Just don’t get rid of them before they have a chance. If you don’t change the way television is heading we will have idiocracy. I’ll leave with this saying. “When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade.” In our future idiocracy it will say ” When life gives you lemons, its yellow?”
