Journeyman on VH1!

Published at 12:18 am under News

According to highly reliable anonymous sources, Journeyman has been picked up for a second season by cable music network, VH1. Before agreeing to air the show’s second season, VH1 insisted that show runner Kevin Falls make a few changes. Kevin McKidd and Brian Howe will be replaced by former Journey band-mates, Neal Schon and Steve Perry. Warning: Spoilers! Sources say that in the exciting season premier, after whipping up some fresh guitar licks in a late night jam session with Hugh, Dan travels back to 1965 to convince Paul McCartney to record “Yesterday” as a power ballad. The result is incredible and, as a result, The Beatles continue to record together until George Harrison’s death. (John Lennon’s murder is removed from history!) The episode is titled “Yesterday, Faithfully.”

“We are incredibly excited to have Journeyman on the network,” said VH1 spokesperson Lirpa Sloof. “The small tweaks we are making will only serve to make the show stronger and appealing to our core audience. Journeyman will leave a lasting impression and will surely rock on for years to come.” Journeyman will air as part of a three hour block with “Scott Baio is 47 and Divorced” and “My Fair Brady: You Strained What?.”

[We couldn’t resist a little bit of joking. Sorry if you didn’t find it funny.]

I don“t like that kind of 1st April jokes. In fact, my heart stopped beating for a second. :-)

Well, you had me going until the proposed replacements–I was that eager to see JM renewed. Duh. I know we need some humor in this long and frustrating process–but I’m still pretty sad from streaming “Perfidia” just two hours ago. Sob!

    NOT FUNNY AT ALL !!

Don’t give up the day job….. for comedy at least !

  4. SaveOurJourneymanon 01 Apr 2008 at 4:44 am

Anyway, Journeyman without Kevin McKidd would not be the same.

  5. crossovermanon 01 Apr 2008 at 4:57 am

    Not funny. Seriously.

  8. Jenniferon 01 Apr 2008 at 10:25 am

Not funny at all, I understand it is april fools day but that is just plane rude, especially in this situation! We are all waiting patiently for word on Journeyman, then we read your comment and get all excited untill we realize that it is just some joke. NOT FUNNY!

Wow I can not believe that anyone was fooled by that one. As soon as I say an April 1st posting I knew right off the bat that it was a joke. Ha Ha Ha you guys are so easy LOL!!!!! I am the April Fools joke master, you have to work harder than that to get me. Ha HA HA Suckers!!!!!!

Don’t listen to anybody else. That was hilarious!!! I’d send that one into The Onion.

You had me going…..come on people. Lighten up! I thought it was funny….I loved this show like all of you and I hope that it does show up soon on a cable network…..but if it doesn’t we had 13 incredible shows. Savor them. Re live them on the internet or vhs. ( I recorded from the beginning)

I will keep on the fight with the rest of you, but I belive the Journeyman/NBC connection is gone…forever. Let’s keep the pressure on Fox to sell it to cable or for their own network.

We weren’t the only ones with a (sick) sense of humor about bringing Journeyman back…

It was funny. Good effort! I’m glad you put something up on here… We need a laugh.
    I love Journeyman.

  14. Timon 01 Apr 2008 at 2:47 pm

I’ll admit I was perplexed and figured it for a joke, but understand that difficult times are often lightened by joking! Well thought out as I kept reading to catch the punch line…

  15. cynon 01 Apr 2008 at 2:49 pm

(I also love iF magazine!) Thanks for the heads up Wally.

  16. Njdehon 01 Apr 2008 at 4:07 pm

haha, that was great, nice one Todd :)

  17. MKon 01 Apr 2008 at 7:37 pm

That was really cruel. I got my hopes up for nothing.

  18. Israelon 01 Apr 2008 at 8:34 pm

It wasn’t all that funny, and it was certainly mean. It is cruel to dash hopes like that.

You could have done an April Fools joke with a time travel theme, like a picture of one of the folks from Journeyman in the past with an anachronistic item.

  19. Marieon 01 Apr 2008 at 8:57 pm

I laughed. Come on people, it was obviously fake. I love Journeyman as much as the next person, and would lovelovelove to see it back, but just even knowing the date it’s was obvious what the post was about.

    :P

  20. Aaronon 02 Apr 2008 at 8:02 am

Yes. It was obvious that it was a joke. Doesn’t mean it was funny, though. Anyway, no harm done. Let’s just put it behind us. :)

  21. DorothyJaneon 02 Apr 2008 at 12:17 pm

    I totally agree with Marie.

Lighten up you guys! That was a very clever and funny (if you can chill out for a moment) April Fools joke. Shame on some of you for getting so mean & bent out of shape. Some of your comments were extremely self-centered and rude.

Thank you Todd for giving us something to smile about during this campaign.

  22. jmanfan24on 02 Apr 2008 at 1:25 pm

I wouldn’t mind an April Fool’s joke, if it was actually a funny joke. It dragged on for too long.

  23. Angelaon 02 Apr 2008 at 4:17 pm

This was an Aprils Fools joke (as the bold letters spell out) some of us needed after all the time spent toward our JM efforts. It was exactly that, a harmless joke.

Sorry some were offended by it, but to curse directly at people is completely uncalled for and out of good taste.

If you didn’t like it, fine, say you didn’t like it, but don’t attack people with direct insults.

This Aprils Fools post was not meant as a direct insult to JM fans. Just a little humor from all of the hard efforts and disappointments this website and its JM campaign supporters have been going through, for months.

It is poking fun at the networks and entertainment sites for not taking our support for this great show seriously. The one day a year we would ever do this would be April Fools. We will not stop supporting JM just because entertainment sites and NBC would want us to do so.

NBC and other networks are going to drop to VH1 show status because they will not keep great shows like our Journeyman afloat. Thus, April Fools on the flailing networks that will only continue to dwindle with crap shows. Journeyman deserves a quality network.

  24. ejoannaon 02 Apr 2008 at 4:22 pm

OK, I am officially appalled by the language Mike used to attack Dorothy. And I’m no saint. But we have all worked so hard. I was a bit annoyed with the “joke”, but can understand why it could’ve lightened the mood for some.

I just now have learned NBC’s new schedule–and it ignores JM. Let’s focus on that. And how about an apology to Dortohy? We need to stick together! C’mon, Mike!

  25. Coreyon 02 Apr 2008 at 5:20 pm

Holy crap, it was a joke about a TV show, not about Darfur or the Holocaust. Lighten up, you dolt.

Journeyman’s off the NBC schedule for next season. But we should ignore that and keep overreacting at an April Fool’s Joke!!! Sounds like a plan!!!

  28. DorothyJaneon 02 Apr 2008 at 6:38 pm

This is a just a TV show and what appeared to be a group of like-minded, intelligent, sophisticated people has turned into something very bizarre.

It seems that someone on this forum has some really major issues and doesn’t socialize well with others. That’s very unfortunate for this site and the goal that all of us been working so hard to achieve.

Good luck to all of you who love Journeyman. It is a fantastic show that deserves many more seasons.

This has been an interesting (and now very weird & creepy) experience. Yuck! I’m out of here!

  29. Aaronon 02 Apr 2008 at 6:54 pm

Wouldn’t it be great if we could go back in time and erase all this? Damn, where’s a good headache when you need it?

  30. Maxon 02 Apr 2008 at 7:43 pm

I sense a Moonlight fan in the room.

  31. Michaelon 02 Apr 2008 at 7:59 pm

Ok…NBC have just announced their 2008/2009 lineups

    Sorry to say….no Journeyman

I hope Fox or SciFi give it a chance….

  32. Toddon 02 Apr 2008 at 8:18 pm

Turning off comments for this post now. Watch the language, people.
